Car Insurance MINI (Car Insurance). Which would win in a race?

Which would win in a race? Which would when in a race; a Dodge 1500 with a 5.7 liter Hemi or a GMC 1500 with a 350? No chips or anything, just stock parts.

What kind of race? 1/8th, 1/4? a race to 300 mph? no one will win I'm guessing the Dodge would. what kind of race are you talking about....sprint or long...what year are the trucks...the chevy 350 is a very old engine and the 5.7 hemi is newer so he age makes a difference(engine fatigue) what kind of axle ratio...trucks have different axle ratios and each would matter differently and lastly whos driving it

Dodge Viper or H1 Hummer? I'm graduating college this year and I want to buy my first car once I start my new job. My two top dream cars is the H1 hummer and the Dodge Viper. I will own them both but can't afford them both. The ones I'm looking at are at around the same price. My question is which one should I buy first. Once I buy one I see myself buying the other one a few years later. BTW I'm moving to Florida for my job. Thanks car insurance.

MINI . How to Check your Motorcycle's Charging System

So the summer is finally in full swing, and you've been riding around for a little while with that battery that you had been meaning to replace for the last 3 years. You go out to ride for the second day in a row, push the starter button, and hear the dreaded click-click-click of the starter relay. Replace the battery, right? Hold on there Skippy, we might as well give the bike a quick checkup of the much neglected charging system, or you just might be replacing batteries every 200 miles!
Difficulty:Moderate
Instructions Things You'll Need
Multi-Meter with VAC, VDC, and Ohm's Settings

Step by Step :
1
Place a multi meter on the battery terminals and check for battery voltage, it should be around 12.5V.
2
Turn the key on and check battery voltage again. It should not have dropped more than .5V
3
Push the starter button while keeping an eye on the multimeter, it should not drop past 11.5V
4
Bring RPMs up to around 3000-3500, battery voltage should be between 13.5 and 14.5V
If voltage the rises and battery fails one of the first 3 tests, the battery is bad. If the voltage doesn't rise, or rises slightly, it could be the regulator/rectifier, or the stator that has given up the ghost.
5
Ok, so the battery is good, now to figure out if the regulator/rectifier or the stator has failed:
Unplug the stator leads from the reg/rec. There should be 3 wires, usually yellow or white.
6
Set multimeter on resistance scale(ohms Ω). Test resistance between each of the three wires coming off of the stator. 1-2, 2-3, 3-1. Resistance should be present, it will vary depending on type of stator. If there is no resistance between any two leads, the stator is bad.
7
Test the resistance of each wire to ground(any available motor bolt will do). There should be no resistance, you should get the infinity symbol (∞), or OL depending on the multimeter. If there is resistance between any lead and ground, stator is bad.
8
Set the multimeter to volts AC. Start motorcycle and check voltage between each of the three leads coming off the stator at 3000RPM. The AC voltage should be between 75 and 150 volts AC.
9
If the stator passes all tests, the regulator is bad.
Tips & Warnings
Make sure all of these checks are done with the battery in a fully charged state; put it on the handy trickle charger overnight just to make sure it's good to go.

MINI . How to Troubleshoot the Charging System on a Honda Motorcycle

The charging system on your Honda motorcycle consists of the battery and the alternator. These components work together to make sure your motorcycle has enough power to run all of the accessories and the critical components such as the fuel-injection system. When the charging system fails, you'll need to know how to troubleshoot the charging system on your Honda motorcycle.
Difficulty:Moderate
Instructions Things You'll Need
Battery charger
Voltmeter
Socket with socket wrench

Step by Step :
1
Verify that the battery is not charging by removing the battery. Disconnect the negative battery cable first by loosening the nut on the cable clamp with a socket wrench until you can slide the clamp off the terminal. Repeat this process for the positive cable clamp.
2
Connect the positive lead on the battery charger to the positive terminal on the battery. Connect the negative lead to the negative terminal on the battery.
3
Turn on the battery charger and set the charger to the lowest setting.
4
Allow the battery to "slow charge" overnight and disconnect the battery from the battery charger.
5
Wait several hours and then connect the positive lead of the voltmeter to the positive terminal on the battery. Touch the negative lead to a grounded piece of metal (not the battery). The voltmeter should read 14 volts. If it does not, your battery needs to be replaced and will not hold a charge. If it does hold the charge, your alternator is failing and will need to be replaced. To verify that the alternator is failing, you can take it to some service centers or auto parts stores; some will test the alternator and battery for you for free.
Tips & Warnings
Specific removal instructions might vary according to motorcycle; for specific information, consult the particular vehicle's manual (see Resources).

PRO: Diesels get great mileage. CON: So do vehicles with fuel-efficient gasoline-powered engines, which often cost a couple of thousand dollars less than diesels. You can buy a lot of gas for a couple of thousand dollars! Diesel fuel is not available at many service stations, and although it used to be cheaper than gasoline, it now often costs as much — or more — than gasoline, and it may become even more expensive, depending on availability and demand. PRO: Diesel fuel contains more usable energy than gasoline. CON: Although diesel fuel is considered more efficient because it converts heat into energy rather than sending the heat out the tailpipe as gas-powered vehicles do, it doesn't result in flashy "high performance." A gasoline-powered vehicle is like a racehorse — high-strung, fiery, and fast — whereas a diesel vehicle is more like a workhorse — slow, strong, and (hopefully) enduring. . Chapter 7: Diesels and Alternatively Powered Vehicles 1 22 PRO: Diesels have no spark plugs or distributors. Therefore, they never need a tune-up. 340 Car Insurance ford expedition 2006 201053

CON: Diesels still need regular maintenance to keep them running. You have to change the oil and the air, oil, and fuel filters, and you may need to bleed excess water out of the system. This chapter shows you how to do these things yourself, but if you neglect the maintenance, and the fuel injection system breaks down, you'll probably have to pay a diesel mechanic big bucks to get things unsnaggled. PRO: Diesels are built more ruggedly to withstand the rigors of higher compression. Consequently, they usually go much longer before they require major repairs than conventional vehicles do. (Mercedes-Benz holds the longevity record with several vehicles clocking more than 900,000 miles on their original engines!) CON: Do you really want to hang on to the same vehicle for 900,000 miles? Also, there have been cases where automakers have simply plunked diesel engines into vehicles that were originally designed to be gasoline-powered. Because these vehicles weren't constructed to stand up to the stresses imposed by the high compression that diesel engines require, they suffered failures that contributed to their swift decline in popularity. PRO: Turbocharged diesels have better fuel efficiency and are much more powerful and responsive than traditional diesel vehicles. CON: Turbocharging will probably get cheaper and even more efficient as time goes on, but you can buy a turbocharged, gasoline-powered vehicle and have the advantages of both. PRO: Diesels have become easier to start in cold weather. CON: Although they're better than they used to be, diesel engines are still more difficult to start on cold days than gasoline engines are. PRO: Diesels put out much less carbon monoxide than ordinary vehicles do, which means less air pollution. CON: This is a major misconception. Diesels put out 30 to 90 percent more nitrogen oxides and carbon particles (soot), and recent studies show that diesel emissions can cause cancer. As a result, recent legislation is aimed at getting diesel-powered vehicles off the road completely unless they can find a way to meet increasingly stringent EPA standards. By the time you read this book, the diesel pros and cons may have changed. Government pressure to produce low-emission diesel engines for trucks, buses, and farm and construction equipment by the early 2000s has resulted in increased efforts to develop low-sulfur diesel fuels, specialized catalytic

Ultimately, you're going to have to check out what's available and make up your own mind. However, based on the current situation, unless you do a lot of driving in parts of the world where gasoline is scarce and diesel fuel is plentiful, I'd stick to gasoline or consider one of the alternatively powered vehicles described later in this chapter.

MINI . How many people died because they did not wear a seatbelt?

ku v a diesel vehicle, be sure to choose one that allows you to do most of the maintenance yourself, without requiring a great deal of time, money, or skill. Check the owner's manual and talk to diesel mechanics to be sure that the oil is easy to change, because you're going to have to change it quite often. Also make sure that the oil, air, and fuel filters are easy to reach and change, and that you can bleed and prime the fuel system easily. Before you buy the vehicle, make the dealer show you where all these items are located and what you must do to maintain them. What makes it yo The basic difference between a diesel engine and a gasoline engine is that in a diesel engine, the fuel is not ignited by an outside power source like a spark plug, nor is it mixed with air in a carburetor. Instead, the fuel is sprayed into the combustion chamber through a fuel injector nozzle, just when the air in the chamber has been placed under such great pressure that it's hot enough to ignite the fuel spontaneously. (You can find more information about diesel fuel later in this chapter.) Most conventional engines have compression ratios of around 8:1, which means that the volume of each cylinder is eight times larger with the piston at the bottom of the cylinder than with the piston at the top of the cylinder. Diesel engines may employ compression ratios of above 20:1. Because of this fact, and the fact that the compressed air can reach very high temperatures, diesel engines must be built for greater strength and endurance. (See Figure 7-1.)

MINI . What are the ten most safest cars?

*
Because diesel fuel is less volatile than gasoline and is easier to start if the combustion chamber is preheated, manufacturers have installed little glow plugs, which work off the battery, to prewarm the air in the cylinders when you first start the car. They have also designed a variety of heaters to help get things going in extremely cold weather. (See "Getting started on a frosty morning" later in this chapter.)
